Position Overview:
The HR Generalist is responsible for managing various human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws, collaborating with various departments and levels of staff. Also, overseeing daily operations, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the office environment.
This role will be heavily focused on these key elements:
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage the hiring process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and facilitating new employee orientations.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing concerns, managing grievances, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Benefits Administration: Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Performance Management: Assist in the development and implementation of performance evaluation processes, providing support to managers and employees.
- Policy Development: Create, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
- Training and Development: Coordinate training programs and professional development opportunities for employees to enhance skills and performance.
- HR Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to employment laws and regulations, maintaining accurate records and reporting as required.
- Oversee Office Operations: Manage the daily operations of the office, ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed efficiently.
- Staff Coordination: Work closely with department heads to facilitate communication and collaboration among staff members.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing office supplies, and greeting visitors.
- Policy Implementation: Implement company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and enhancing productivity.
- Budget Management: Assist in budget preparation and monitor office expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Problem Solving: Address any issues that arise within the office, providing solutions to improve workflow and employee satisfaction.
The craft and expertise you’ll bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required; SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR a plus.
- Previous experience in HR roles is preferred, with a focus on generalist functions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with staff and external parties.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial for managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Superb interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and positively engage at all levels of the organization.
- Proven familiarity with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, email tools, and databases) is necessary for performing administrative duties. Proficiency and confidence in navigating an HR software and Microsoft Office is essential.
